Issue
A PDF file from the exchange shows a different name in your web browser's or PDF application's title bar.
Cause
The PDF may have a different name in its description, which is a separate section in the document's properties. While the PDF's file name will show on your desktop or in the exchange, the description title is displayed in browser and application title bars.
Solution
- Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
Note: You can also check the title in Adobe Reader but cannot make changes. - Click File > Properties.
- In the window that opens, refer to the Title field on the Description tab. This is the name that appears in browser / title bars.
- If you are using Adobe Acrobat and wish to update the title, make the changes in the field and click the OK button.
- If you're an exchange manager or publisher, replace the previous version of the file on the exchange to make the new version available to users.
