Applies to: DealVault administrators
DealVault is a cloud-based storage solution that ensures easy access to archives and efficient management of your deal data. Archives can be securely accessed, making it easy to analyze, collaborate on and unarchive entire VDRs. You can view, search, download, and move files and folders, upload an entire archive to an active VDR (rehydrate), and manage all of your archives in a central place.
DealVault archives are subscription based. If you do not have a DealVault subscription yet, see Subscribing to DealVault.
If you have a subscription and are looking for information about your contract, see Managing DealVault subscriptions.
DealVault archives are read-only and cannot be modified.

Giving and removing users' access to an archive
Giving someone access to an archive
You must be a DealVault administrator to give additional users access to an archive. Note that newly added users must belong to the same organization as the archive recipient, and they must have (or create) an Intralinks account to access DealVault.
- In DealVault, open the archive you want to change.
- Click the Archive Access tab at the top of the screen.
- Click the Add Users button at the top right.
- Enter the user's email address and select a role for the user. Users with a Viewer role can only view the contents of the archive. Users with an Administrator role can add and remove users' access to archives. The recipient of the archive is an Administrator by default. Archives can have more than one Administrator.
- Click Add.
Removing a user's access to an archive
Note that the archive must have at least one administrator. You cannot remove the only administrator for an archive before adding a new administrator.
- In DealVault, open the archive you want to change.
- Click the Archive Access tab at the top of the screen.
- Click the Remove Access icon
in the Actions column for the user you want to remove.
Changing a user's role in an archive
Use these steps if you want to upgrade a user's role from Viewer to Administrator or downgrade their role from Administrator to Viewer.
- In DealVault, open the archive you want to change.
- Click the Archive Access tab at the top of the screen.
- Click the Change Role icon
in the Actions column for the user and select the user's new role.
Sharing documents with people who do have access to the archive
You can securely share up to 10 documents at one time with people who do not have access to your archive. These people will receive an email with links to the documents, which can be accessed for seven days. Email recipients will have to enter their email address before viewing the documents. If you need to share more than 10 documents, repeat the steps below.
- In DealVault, open the archive that contains the documents you want to share.
- In the Documents view, select the documents you want to share. Select up to 10 documents.
- Enter the email address for the person you are sharing the documents with.
- Review the email address to be sure it is correct, then click the I verify that the email ID provided is correct and accurate checkbox.
- Click Share.
Inactivating links to shared documents
You can remove a person's ability to use the links you shared before the links expire.
- In DealVault, open the archive that contains the documents you shared.
- Click Secure Share.
- Select the items you want to unshare.
- Click Delete Links.
- Click Delete.
