More granular permissions for downloading documents
One of the strongest features of Intralinks is the ability to tightly control Control/View-only/No Access permissions for folders and documents.
It would be a huge win to include Download rights as part of these access controls. Specifically allowing Room Managers to grant or restrict download abilities:
- By User Group (Use case: give a Legal Reviewer group access to download files, but not other viewers/contributor groups)
- By Folder (Use case: Buyers can download materials from the "Deal teaser" folder, but are restricted to view-only for more sensitive content like financial projections, HR info, etc.)

Thank you for sharing this feedback, Kevin. Indeed, we only allow users to prevent download for entire project (either all documents, or only IRM secured documents). We understand the need to be more granular, and only block the download for certain groups, documents or folders (depending on how sensitive they are). We are going to discuss this improvement with our Engineering team, and add it to our roadmap planning process. Thank you for taking the time to share this suggestion.
