Freezing and unfreezing the document index | VDRPro

  • Updated

Product: VDRPro
Applies to: All Manager roles, Publisher Plus

Important: Intralinks VDRPro offers two types of freezing. To learn more, see Freezing the document index vs. freezing a VDR in VDRPro.

If your VDR allows folders and documents to be indexed, you can “freeze” the order of these items once the VDR is fully organized and no further changes to the structure are planned. Freezing affects both indexed and unindexed items. Once the index is frozen, no changes can be made to its structure; documents and folders cannot be added, moved or deleted.

If, after you’ve frozen the index, you discover that additional changes need to be made that will affect the order of items, you can “unfreeze” the index and make the needed changes. Then you can freeze the index again as needed.

I want to

  • Prevent the folder and document structure from being changed
  • Allow the folder and document structure to be changed

To unfreeze VDR items

  1. Click Documents at the top of the screen.
  2. From the More Actions menu, select Unfreeze Index.
