This article explains how to run prompts in Ask Link to get answers about document content in your deals.
How to access saved prompts in Ask Link
- Click the DealCentre AI icon
in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
- Click the Preparation icon
or the Diligence icon
on the left side of the screen.
- Click Ask Link.
- Click the Recent
icon in the top left corner in the right panel
- Click Saved Prompts.
How to run saved prompts
After you create or adopt a saved prompt, you can run it against your deal documents. You can run the prompt against all files or select specific files. After the run starts, you can monitor its progress, review the results, rename the run, exports the results, or remove the run.
Prerequisites
- Ensure that you have access to Ask Link. Ask Link availability depends on your role in the deal. If Ask Link does not appear in your deal, it may have been disabled by the deal administrator.
- Ensure that the prompt is available in My Prompts or Entity Prompts.
- Ensure that the deal contains documents to analyze.
- Buyers and sellers may not have the same access to Ask Link features. For more information about enabling and disabling AI features, see Creating and managing deals.
Run a saved prompt in Ask Link
- Click the DealCentre AI icon
in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
- Click the Preparation icon
or the Diligence icon
on the left side of the screen.
- Click Ask Link.
- Click the Recent
icon in the top left corner in the right panel
- Click Saved Prompts.
- Click My Prompts.
- Locate the prompt that you want to run.
- Select Run. If you selected All files for the prompt, the prompt runs automatically.

(Optional.) If you selected Selected Files while publishing the prompt, select the documents to analyze in the Select Files for Prompt Run window.
- Select the Location for the documents
- Browse or search for documents
- Select one or more supported documents
- Select Run Prompt on x files, where x is the number of files selected
The prompt is submitted for processing. The run is added to the Recent section.
Note: A prompt can analyze up to 100 selected documents in a single run.
Prompt run status
A prompt run can have one of the following statuses:
- Pending - The run has been submitted and is waiting to start
- In Progress - The prompt is processing documents
- No Status - The prompt finished successfully
- Failed - The system could not submit the run successfully or Ask Link did not return any answer
Note: Some results may become available before the run is complete.
How to view prompt run outcome from the Ask Link panel
- Click the DealCentre AI icon
in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
- Click the Preparation icon
or the Diligence icon
on the left side of the screen.
- Click Ask Link.
- Click the Recent
icon in the Ask Link panel.
- Click a completed run.
Prompt result
The run outcome displays the run name, prompt details, prompt instructions, role and expertise, scope and data, output format, selected documents, generated responses, citations.
Note: A run outcome preserves the prompt configuration that was used when the prompt was run. Changes made to the saved prompt later do not update previous run outcomes.
How to manage any prompt run
- Click the DealCentre AI icon
in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
- Click the Preparation icon
or the Diligence icon
on the left side of the screen.
- Click Ask Link.
- Click the Recent
icon in the Ask Link panel.
- Click a completed run.
- Select one of the following options from the Actions menu in any open chat:
- To rename the prompt run, select Rename.
- Enter the new name
- Click Save.
- To export the prompt run, select the export format as Word or Excel, and click Export.
- To delete the prompt run, select Delete. Click Remove to confirm. If available, select Undo within the notification period to restore the run outcome.
- To rename the prompt run, select Rename.
Troubleshooting

I cannot find a previous prompt: Click the Recent
icon to see all prompts. Use the search or scroll to find older prompts.
- My prompt list shows "Error" status: The prompt did not run successfully, or Ask Link could not find the answer.
