This article explains how to translate text passages directly in the document viewer without saving a file.
Prerequisites:
- Your administrator has enabled Link AI Translation in Settings.
- Your user group has access to Inline Translation.
- The document is an electronic file or a scanned document with OCR text.
- The document source language is not Hebrew or Arabic.
How to translate text using inline translation
- Click the DealCentre AI icon
in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
- Select the deal you want.
- Navigate to the required documents grid:
- If you are in the Marketing area, click the Internal Documents tab.
- If you are in the Preparation area, click the Documents tab.
- If you are in the Diligence area, click the Documents tab.
- From the documents grid, click the document to view it in the viewer.
- Translate using one of these options:
- Select the Inline translation mode from the viewer toolbar.
- Select the text you want to translate, then select Translate selected text from the options that appear.
- In the Translate Text modal, select your target language from the Select Language dropdown list.
- Click Translate. The translated result appears next to the original text.
- To copy the translated result, click the Copy translated text icon under the translated text.
- To translate the same text into another language, select a different language from the dropdown and click Translate.
Note:
- If your selection is over 6000 characters, only the first 6000 characters are translated. The modal shows a notification when this limit applies.
- The source language is detected automatically. It is not available for selection.
- Inline translation is not available for documents in Hebrew or Arabic as a target language when the source is in any other supported language.
- You can translate the same text into multiple languages without closing the modal.
- Both the selected and translated text areas scroll in sync.
How to retry a failed translation
- Check the modal for a Translation failed message.
- Select your target language again from the Select Language dropdown list.
- Click Try Again.
