This article explains how to use the search in the Documents tab from Internal, Preparation, and Diligence areas.

How to search for documents

You can use the search bar in the Internal Documents or Documents grid to find documents or folders. Search results include only documents that the user has permission to access.

Run a search

1. Open the documents.
   • To search internal documents, 
     • Click the DealCentre AI icon in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
     • Select the deal that you want.
     • Click the Marketing icon on the left side of the screen.
     • Click the Internal Documents tab at the top of the screen.
   • To search deal documents, 
     • Click the DealCentre AI icon in the upper left corner of the screen to display the deals list.
     • Select the deal you want.
     • Click the Preparation icon on the left side of the screen.
     • Click the Documents tab at the top of the screen.
2. Enter a search term in the search bar at the top.
3. (Optional.) Select a scope tag to narrow the search:
   • Current Folder
   • Document Name
   • Folder Name
4. Click the Search icon.

The grid shows documents that match the search term.

• The page title shows the number of search results.
• Scope tags appear above the results table and act as filters.
• Select Clear All to remove scope filters. 

Search inside a folder

If you are inside a folder, you can limit the search to that folder.

1. Open a folder.
2. Enter a search term in the search bar.
3. Select Current folder.
4. Click the search icon.

The results show documents from the selected folder.

Open a document from search results

1. Run a search.

2. Click the document name in the results.

   The document opens in the viewer. 

Search in the document viewer

When a document is opened from search results:

• The Documents panel remains visible on the left.
• The viewer returns the same search result.
• Matching text is highlighted in the document.
• The search term appears in the document viewer search field.
