Risk ratings define what documents Limited Partners (LPs) need to provide during onboarding,
With the risk rating calculator, ratings update automatically when LP information changes, such as an address update or country risk change.
GPs can get real-time insights into LP risk levels. They can review and act on changes early, instead of at the end of onboarding.
LPs don't see their risk rating in their view. However, the risk ratings decide:
- What supporting documents they need to upload.
- Which onboarding tasks appear in their workflow.
This allows LP to provide correct documents the first time, reducing delays and follow-up requests.
For example, if sanctions are applied to a country, GPs can update the Country Risk Profile for that country to a prohibited or a higher risk level. Investors linked to that country are immediately reassigned a higher or prohibited risk rating without manual updates.
To enable automatic calculations, General Partners (GPs) must configure two items:
- Country risk profiles - defines the risk level for each country.
- Risk rating calculation rules - defines how ratings are applied based on the country profiles and investor details.
If these items aren't configured, the system defaults to the static risk rating entered when the investor was created.
