Secure Viewer
A number of enhancements were made to Secure Viewer that give viewers greater capability when performing "what-if" scenarios using protected Microsoft Excel spreadsheets:
- An Excel-style ribbon bar with tools for manipulating the data in spreadsheets. Users can use the ribbon bar to update cell styles, insert new columns and rows, apply filters or sort data, insert tables, charts and perform other tasks. Users are not allowed to save the changes they make when performing "what-if" scenarios, so the ribbon bar does not include options for saving, printing or copying spreadsheets or their contents.
- Users whose exchanges do not allow changes to Excel spreadsheets will have access to the ribbon bar, but a limited number of tools will be available.
- The options on the context (right-click) menu have been expanded to include more options for editing spreadsheet contents.
- A message now appears at the top of the screen while spreadsheets are being edited to remind the user that their changes cannot be saved.
- Users can download a spreadsheet they are editing, but the changes they have made will not appear in the downloaded document.
Document Analyzer
New options on the Analysis view of the Settings screen allow users to limit the document analysis alerts they receive to the issues that they consider most important. If a user opts to receive notifications for a new issue type, any existing documents with this issue will be added to the Attention Required view and the user will receive an email notification about them.
