The document notification type that is sent is based on a combination of the type of the notification method, the Notifications Aggregate portal setting, and user selections. The Notifications Aggregate setting determines how notifications are sent when documents are bulk published. This setting must be enabled/disabled by Intralinks Customer Service. Following is a list of notification methods and a description of what is sent to the LPs.
- Notifications sent during bulk publishing of a posting - One email per permissioned document in the batch posting is sent using the given document type notification template.
- Ad hoc one-off notifications sent using Add Notifications - One email per permissioned LP user is sent. If an LP user is part of multiple funds, investments, groups, and so on, they only receive one copy of the given ad hoc email.
- Bulk publishing documents (Notifications Aggregate disabled) - One email per permissioned document is sent using the given document type notification template. The Generic document type template is not used.

Bulk publishing documents (Notifications Aggregate enabled) - The generic template is used in the following cases:
- If the bulk published documents were more than one document type for more than one investor, the permissioned LP users will receive a generic notification that multiple documents were uploaded.
- If the bulk published documents are of the same document type and an LP user is working with multiple investors for those document, they also get a generic document notification.
The document type notification template is used if the LP user is permissioned to the given document type one time for one investor.
