Clean teams are specialized groups representing or advising the buy side who are not part of the buyer's organization. Clean teams in Q&A allows these members to maintain a private communication channel with the sell side.

Important! Clean team members need access to more sensitive documents, so they are typically added to an exchange group with different permission rights, while at the same time, being part of the regular buyer group on the buy side team. They have access to the Q&A activity of the buyer group of which they are a part.

By default, clean team functionality is not enabled. It must be turned on by enabling the Allow for Clean Team Visibility exchange setting. For more information, see Modules (Advanced Settings). Note that once this setting is turned on, it cannot be turned off. Once enabled, the clean team members must be selected in the Submitters section of the Q&A configuration. Note that clean team members must be selected as submitters before they can be assigned the clean team role. For more information see Setting up Q&A (for managers). Clean team members are indicated by an icon in the first column of the Users list on the Users & Groups tab.

When a clean team member adds a new question, the new Question Visibility field is displayed. The clean team member can select whether only clean team members or the entire buyer group can see the question. Questions designated as only for clean team members will only be visible to other clean team members from that buyer group. This includes all follow up questions, comments and answers that belong to that question. In addition, reports that are exported by regular buyer group users will not contain question visible only to clean team members.

Questions added with clean team visibility will be flagged in the question list to help users differentiate them from other questions. Questions with clean team visibility cannot be added to the FAQ.
