You can add an informational note about a document and require users to view the note when they open the document. The note can have a maximum of 4000 bytes. For most letters, a byte is equal to one character, however, some characters, such as single or double quotes, count as more than one byte.

I want to

  • Adding a note to a document, and optionally require users to view it.

Steps

  1. Click the Documents tab.
  2. Select the document to which you want to add a note.
  3. Click the three dots menu and select Properties.
  4. In the Additional Information section, in the Note field, enter the note.
  5. (Optional.) To require users to view the note, mark Display note before opening the document. The note will automatically be displayed when the document is opened.
  6. Click Save Changes.
