You can permission a contact to be a GP admin, GP Admin (View Only). Additionally, you can permission LP contacts to a campaign, fund, or investment.

Contacts added to a Fundraising portal must be assigned permission and then invited to be given access. Watch this tutorial walkthrough to learn about the different permission types available and how to manage permissions.
How to permission users
Adding permissions
- From the Entity menu, select Contacts.
- Click the name or email address of the contact you want to permission.
- Click Permissions.
- Click Add Permission.
- In the Role field, select whether the contact's role will be a GP admin, GP admin (view only) or a limited partner. If you select GP Admin or GP Admin (View Only), click Save and you are done. For limited partners, select Limited Partner and continue to the next step.
- In the Permission Type field, select Campaign, Fund, or Investment. The fields displayed are based on the type of permission.
- Campaign - Select the campaign to which you want to give access.
- Fund - Select the campaign and fund to which want to give access.
- Investment - Select the investor, fund, access level and campaign to which you want to give access. Primary users can see all documents. Secondary users can only see non-primary documents.
- (Optional.) If an existing investment is not available, you can create a new investment. For more information, see Creating a new investment.
- Click Save.
Creating a new investment while adding permissions
You can create a new investment while you permission a contact.
- From the Entity menu, select Contacts.
- Click the name or email address of the contact you want to permission.
- Click Permissions.
- Click Add Permission.
- In the Role field, select whether the contact's role will be a GP admin or a limited partner. If you select GP Admin, click Save and you are done. For limited partners, continue to the next step.
- In the Permission Type field, select Investment.
- Select the Investor from the dropdown menu.
- Click Link Fund from the Fund dropdown menu.
- In the Add Investment window, the Investor field is prefilled.
- Select the Fund and the Campaign is auto filled.
- Select Status.
- Enter the Currency, Target Amount and Committed Amount.
- Click Save.

Watch this tutorial walkthrough for instructions on using bulk actions to assign permissions to contacts who have already been added to your portal. After permissions are assigned, contacts will need to be invited to your portal.
Adding permissions in bulk
You can add multiple permissions at one time using an Excel spreadsheet. A template is provided that you can download, update, then upload.
- From the Profile menu, select Bulk Actions.
- Click Bulk Upload.
- In the Upload Name field, enter a name for the upload.
- In the Upload Type field, select Permissions.
- If you have not already done so, download and complete the template.
- Click Download Template.
- Open the template and add your investor information. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk. Click the Template Format tab for details about completing the template.
- Save the changes.
- Click Select File to Upload.
- Navigate to the file and click Open.
- Click Upload. You can view the status of a bulk upload on the Bulk Actions page.
- A status page is displayed. The following options are available:
- Download Error File - This option is available if errors were found in the upload.
- Download Original File - Lets you download the file that was uploaded.
- Rollback - Rolls back the upload. Click Confirm to continue.
Impersonating a user
You can impersonate a user to verify that permissions were set up correctly. You can only impersonate users that have access to the LP Portal.
- From the Entity menu, select Contacts.
- Click on the Impersonate icon to see that person's view of the portal.
Managing document download permissions for a contact
When you disable download permissions for a contact, even if a document is posted with download enabled, restricted users will only be able to view it. The download icon will be dimmed for those contacts.
- From the Entity menu, select Contacts.
- For the contact, switch the Document Download toggle on to enable downloads or off to disable downloads. A confirmation message is displayed after you update the permission.
