Investors can be a legal entity/company or an individual person with a tax ID.
How to add an investor
- From the Entity menu, select Investors.
- Click Add Investor.
- Enter the information about the investor. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.
- Click Save.
How to add investors in bulk
You can add multiple investors at one time using an Excel spreadsheet. A template is provided that you can download, update, then upload.
- From the Profile menu, select Bulk Actions.
- Click Bulk Upload.
- In the Upload Name field, enter a name for the upload.
- In the Upload Type field, select Investors.
- If you have not already done so, download and complete the template.
- Click Download Template.
- Open the template and add your investor information. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk. Click the Template Format tab for details about completing the template.
- Save the changes.
- Click Select File to Upload.
- Navigate to the file and click Open.
- Click Upload. You can view the status of a bulk upload on the Bulk Actions page.
- A status page is displayed. The following options are available:
- Download Error File - This option is available if errors were found in the upload.
- Download Original File - Lets you download the file that was uploaded.
- Rollback - Rolls back the upload. Click Confirm to continue.
How to view and update investor details
- From the Entity menu, select Investors.
- Click the investor name for which you want to view details.
- Make any updates to the investor details and click Save.
- Click on the other tabs to view information about contacts, investments, documents, permissions, notes, and activity associated with the investor.
How to add an investment to an investor
- From the Entity menu, select Investors.
- Click the investor to which you want to add an investment.
- Click the Investments tab.
- Click Add Investment.
- Enter the information about the investment.
- Click Save.
How to permission contacts to an investor
The investor to which you want to permission contacts must have at least one fund associated with it.
- From the Entity menu, click Contacts.
- Click the name or the email address of the contact you want to add.
- Click Permissions.
- Click Add Permission.
- In the Role field, select Limited Partner.
- In the Permission Type field, click Investment.
- In the Investor field, select the investor.
- In the Fund field, select the fund.
- In the Access Level field, select whether the user will have primary or secondary access. Primary users can see all documents. Secondary users can only see non-primary documents.
- Click Save.
How to delete an investor
An investor that has an investment associated with it cannot be deleted. Remove the investment from the investor and then delete the investor.
- From the Entity menu, select Investors.
- Click the investor name that you want to delete.
- From the three dots menu, click Delete.
- Click Confirm.
How to export investors
You can export data in CSV format and then download it from the Exported Items page. Exporting the data allows you to customize reports in Microsoft Excel.
- From the entity grid of the entity that you want to export, click Export.
- In the Exported Items page, click the name of the export that you want to download.
