Questions

What Workspace file types can I view in the browser and which ones do I need to download?

Answer

Viewing in the browser

The Intralinks secure viewer supports a variety of formats, allowing you to open the files directly in your web browser. The supported formats include:

  • PDF
  • Microsoft Office
  • Image files
  • CAD files (.dwg, .dwf, .dxf, .dgn)
  • Video files (.mp4, .webmm, .ogg)

Note: Some Workspaces have a setting applied that requires you to download IRM-protected files. If this setting is enabled, protected PDFs and Microsoft Office files will automatically download to your system when you click them. You won't have an option to view them in the browser.

Downloading

You can also download any file from a Workspace.

  • Your ability to open downloaded files is dependent on your system and the applications you have available (or can install).
  • If the files you download are IRM-protected PDFs and Microsoft Office documents, you'll need to authenticate with your Intralinks account credentials when you open them.
